Distribution: Ecuador to Peru
Habitat: Wet forests; 3940-8200ft (1200-2500m)
Life form: Epiphytic
Bloom Time (northern hemisphere): January to October; peaks in May
Bloom characteristics: Erect to nodding inflorescence is 4' (120 cm) long with few to over 50 pink flowers. Flowers are 1" (2.5 cm) across.
Pollination syndrome: Hummingbirds for nectar (presumed)
Description: This small to medium sized orchid has cupped flowers, and is thought to be pollinated by hummingbirds.
