Foliage characteristics:
Pinnately compound, alternate leaves with 20 to 30 oval leaflets. Leaflets are .5-1.5" long. Leaves are 6-8" long.
Fruit characteristics:
Flat, red-brown pod which curl slightly and contain several seeds and a sweet, gummy substance. Up to 18" long. Mature in late summer and persist into winter.

Dark gray and breaks into long flat plates which curl along the edges.

Small yellow-green flowers in spikes.
Description:
This honey locust variety still has the lovely foliage of the species, but lacks thorns.
