Habitat: Humid, mossy, mixed and coniferous forests; 1000-1500m

Bloom Time (northern hemisphere): February to June
Bloom characteristics: Inflorescence is 1.5-2" long with a single, long-lived pink flower with a round yellow center. Flowers are 2" across.
Fragrance: Fragrant
Pollination syndrome: Bee (Ctenoplecta florisomnis), reward
Description: This miniature orchid is very popular amongst growers of dendrobiums. When D. loddigesii comes into bloom, it is so densely flowered that it can look like a mat of pink with small yellow suns.
