Bloom Time (northern hemisphere): Year round; peaks from April to May
Bloom characteristics: Arching to pendent inflorescence can reach 15 feet with a few to several glossy flowers. Flowers are 1" across.
Description: This medium sized orchid is the type species for the genus. It is often found in conjunction with ants, and was one of the earliest orchids cultivated at Kew Royal Botanical Gardens.
